Ākāśa

The word Ākāśa,

is beautifully translated as

the space or the sky.

But what it really means is:

all there is.

 

Sankarācharya explains

that

Ākāśa

limited by a wood

is in reality the same ākāśa

limited by a tree. Ākāśa

reflected in a lake

is the same

ākāśa reflected in a drop of water.

The difference lies in the way of looking at them.

The difference between one thing and the other

any one thing

and the other

lies in the mind. Once things are seen as one

they cease being
