This compilation gathers authors and works hailing from different throughout the country, and thus it proudly offers a sampling of the current state of Venezuelan poetry. It portrays concerns, looks, ways of facing reality and variegated poetic enquiries. The upshot is a chorus of rhythmic dissonances, with their differences and encounters, their histories and their pauses.

The "Poetic Jamming" was born from the gathering of a group of writers willing to share their poetic work, and that in February 2011 found the possibility to do it at the Ateneo de Caracas, in this institution’s beautiful Terrace.

In a Poetic Jamming each author reads their texts taking as a point of departure the one previously read. There isn’t a specific order, not everyone has to participate all the time. On the contrary, only when “called” by a previously read poem, the new poet jumps in, and reads his or hers.

Willing to preserve and concentrate the experience, we designed and edited the Mermeladas para llevar (Jams to go), artist plaquettes that gather some of the participant poets and texts.
