The bilingual anthology Between the Breath and the Abyss: Poetics on Beauty (Entre el aliento y el precipicio: poéticas sobre la belleza) collects the ideas of a select group of Continental American poets regarding the appearance of beauty in poetry and in life.
Approaching the subject in a personal, creative, and insightful way, the authors discuss their perceptions of beauty and make express their perspectives through a short selection of their work. Hailing from all over the Americas, from Argentina to the US, and encompassing both young writers with burgeoning careers and older, highly renowned poets (including recipients of the Wallace Stevens Award, the Pulitzer Prize, the Casa de las Américas, the Pablo Neruda Award, and the Academy of American Poets Award, among others), the anthologized poets offer insights views on beauty through their own work.
